Bandedi Progressive Farmers Producer Company Limited is located in a small village called Osharaahu, which is in the Dhar district. Living and working in Dhar means we are pretty connected to the land. Our office isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we can meet and talk about the farming business. We call ourselves progressive because we like to try new things with our crops, but we are still just local farmers at heart. Gram Osharaahu is a quiet place for the most part, except when it's harvest time. Then everything gets very busy and a bit chaotic with tractors and people moving about. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. It's just a group of us from the village and the surrounding areas. We spend our mornings checking the weather and our afternoons talking to the men and women who are actually out in the fields. Dhar can get very hot, so we usually start our work early. The work is mostly about coordinating what everyone is growing and making sure we can sell it for a fair price. It’s a lot of talking, a lot of drinking tea, and a lot of walking around the village. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and everyone in Osharaahu knows where to find us. It’s a simple life, focused on the soil.
