Ranjan Hair Dresses

Shaharpura is where we have our shop. It is right on the Main Road in Sindri, Dhanbad. This part of Jharkhand gets very hot, so we usually have the door open to get a breeze, even if it brings in some of the dust from the road. The chairs we have are the old metal kind that are quite sturdy. We have been here long enough that we don't really need to look at a map to know who lives where in the colony. Most of the people who come in are workers or people living nearby who just want a simple hair cutting. We keep the spray bottles filled and the scissors sharp. There is a small radio in the corner that we play sometimes, mostly for the news or some old songs. The floor is tiled, but the tiles are worn down in the spots where we stand the most. We do not have any air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that spin all day long. It is a basic setup with just the things we need to do the job. We start early when the sun is not too high yet and stay until the Main Road quietens down a bit in the evening. There is no waiting list or anything, people just walk in and if a chair is free, they sit down. It is a very normal place for a haircut.
