Vinod Jens Parlour

Vinod Jens Parlour is over in Nagda Aam Bagan, near the Pathadgariya area in Bhatdih. We are quite close to the Mohda Railway Station here in Dhanbad. It is a very simple shop, really just a single room with a couple of chairs and a big mirror on the main wall. I have been running this place by myself for a while now. The floor is just plain concrete, and the walls have a few cracks here and there, but I keep it clean enough for everyone. Most of my customers are men from the nearby railway station or the local colony houses. They come in for a quick shave or a basic haircut every few weeks. I don’t have a computer or any fancy system to book appointments; people just walk in and wait their turn on the bench. I keep a few plastic stools outside for when it gets a bit crowded inside. The breeze from the trees in Aam Bagan helps keep the shop cool in the hot afternoons. I usually have a small radio playing some old songs to pass the time. It is a quiet life here. I know almost all of the people who live and work around the station. We talk about the train schedules or the weather while I work. I don't use any fancy chemicals or expensive products, just the basic stuff that gets the job done. It is an honest way to earn a living, and people seem to like having a place close by.
