Vikas Tent

Vikas Tent is located at B-70 in the Anandvas Colony of Shakurpur. Our work is mostly done outside, but B-70 is where we keep all our supplies like the heavy metal poles, large rolls of colorful fabric, and stacks of plastic chairs. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, so the guys here are usually quite tired by the end of the day. Shakurpur is a crowded place, and moving our trucks in and out of Anandvas Colony takes some skill because the streets are not very wide. We’ve been doing this for a long time, so we know exactly how many poles we need for a standard wedding or a local function. The warehouse area is a bit messy with ropes and folded tarps everywhere, but we have our own system for finding what we need. When it’s wedding season, we are barely at the shop because we are out setting up tents at different locations. During the off-season, we spend our time mending the cloth and painting the poles so they don't rust. It’s hard work and it gets very dusty, but it’s what we know. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk to people right there among the stacks of chairs. Most of our business comes from word of mouth in the colony. We just show up, do the job, and take everything down when it’s over.
