Shankey Traders

Shankey Traders is tucked away at 499 in the Old Lajpat Rai Market. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how busy it gets. It is one of the oldest markets in Delhi, and we have been a part of it for a while. Our shop is small, but we pack a lot of stuff inside. The corridors are narrow and people are always pushing past. It’s a bit of a squeeze. We deal in various goods as traders. Every morning we pull up the shutters and start the day. The tea stalls nearby are always crowded. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who come from all over the city. Chandni Chowk has a rhythm of its own. It is loud and chaotic. We don't have any fancy displays. The stock is piled up wherever it fits. Sometimes it’s hard to find things, but we know where everything is. We are right there at 499. It’s a simple setup. We take orders, handle cash, and try to get things out as fast as we can. The history of this market is long, and we are just another small piece of it. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just trade. Some days are good, some are slow, but we are always there in Old Lajpat Rai Market. Shankey Traders is a typical local spot in the heart of the old city.
