Jai Maa Traders

Our shop is in Sadar Bazar Chowk, right on Qutab Road at 19/11. If you have ever been to Sadar, you know how crowded it gets. There are people pushing carts, rickshaws everywhere, and everyone is in a hurry. Our place is tucked in among a hundred other shops. We deal with trading various goods, and the inventory changes depending on what is moving in the market. The space is narrow and high, with boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. We have to use a wooden ladder to get to the stuff at the top, which can be a bit tricky on a busy Monday morning. Most of our day is spent writing out slips and checking what came in on the morning truck. It is loud and there is always someone shouting for a rickshaw or a tea delivery. We don’t have much room for a desk, so we usually just stand at the counter or sit on a stool near the entrance. The floor is old stone and the light is a bit dim in the back, but we know exactly where everything is. It is a bit of a maze, but that is just how things are in this part of old Delhi. We have been in this spot for years and the neighbors are all like family now.
