Our place is tucked away at 120 Indira Nagar, right there in Vikas Mall on Big Cinema Road. It’s a busy corner of Dehradun, especially with the Asian School right across from us. You can usually hear the school bells or the noise from the cinema crowds when a big movie finishes. We opened up here because we liked the energy of the neighborhood. It’s not a very big shop, but we’ve managed to fit enough tables for the lunch crowd. Working in Dehradun City means we get a mix of students, teachers, and people just out for a walk. I usually get here early to check the stock and make sure everything is ready before the first customer walks in. We don’t have a manager in a suit or any corporate rules. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. Sometimes we run out of water or the fridge makes a weird noise, and we just deal with it. We like to chat with the regulars about the weather or how the local traffic is getting worse. It’s a comfortable spot where you don’t have to dress up to get a meal. We just keep the kitchen going and try to make sure the food tastes like it should every day. The mountain air makes everyone hungry, so we stay pretty busy most afternoons. We just do the best we can with what we have.
