Kashish Food

Dehradun has changed a lot since we opened Kashish Food over in Pandit Wari. We are situated near Gurudwara Road, which is a busy little pocket of the city. Most days start pretty early for us because there is always something to prep in the kitchen. We don’t really do fancy menus or anything like that. It’s mostly just the stuff people around here like to eat for lunch or dinner. The weather in Dehradun can be a bit unpredictable, especially during the monsoon, but we keep the doors open anyway. We get a lot of regulars who live nearby and just want something quick and hot. It’s a small operation, mostly family and a couple of guys who have worked with us for years. We buy our vegetables from the local market nearby every morning because that’s just the easiest way to do it. Sometimes the road gets crowded when there’s a function at the Gurudwara, but we like the energy of the neighborhood. It’s not a quiet place, but it feels like home to us. We’ve had some tough times like any other small business, but we just keep showing up and cooking. There isn't much to say other than we work hard and try to make sure nobody leaves hungry. If you are walking down from the main road, you will see our sign. It’s nothing too bright, just a plain spot where we do our thing every single day without much fuss.
