If you walk down Rajpur Road in Dehradun, you’ll find us in the Balaji Complex. We’re Naveen Vegetarian. Being near the Yark Petrol Pump means there’s always cars and bikes pulling in and out nearby. It’s a lively part of Dehradun City. Our place is pretty straightforward. We only do vegetarian food. We decided a long time ago that sticking to what we know is better than trying to do everything. The space isn't huge, but we make it work. Most of our regulars are people who work in the nearby offices or students who need a decent meal that won't cost them too much. We get the vegetables fresh from the market every morning. Some days the delivery is late, and we have to scramble a bit, but that’s just how it goes in a kitchen. It’s a family-run spot, so you might see my cousins or my dad hanging around the counter. We don't have a big team of waiters. It’s just us. The noise from the street comes in sometimes when the door is open. Dehradun has changed a lot, but this corner feels the same to us. We aren't trying to be the trendiest cafe in town. We just want to serve a plate of food that fills you up. It’s plain and simple. No frills. Just a local spot for local people who want a hot meal without any of the fancy talk or anything else that isn't needed at dinner.
