The Doon Little World Play School

Our little school is over at 682 Canal Road in Dehradun. It is a nice part of the city to be in, especially with the trees around. Since it is a play school, the inside is quite a mess of toys, cushions, and art supplies most of the time. We don't try to keep it looking like a corporate office because that is not what kids need. There are drawings taped to the walls and blocks scattered on the floor. It is a small place, which makes it feel a bit more personal. We have a little outdoor space where the children can play when the Dehradun weather is nice. We are just a small team of people who like working with kids. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just spend our days making sure the kids are safe and having a bit of fun while they learn their basics. The morning drop-offs can be a bit loud with kids crying or laughing, but we are used to it by now. Parents often stay for a minute to chat with us at the gate. It is a friendly, local kind of place. We don't have big advertisements. People in the Canal Road area just know we are here. It is just an honest, simple school for the little ones to spend their day. We just take it one day at a time.
