Doon Kids School

You’ll find Doon Kids School over in Rajeshwar Nagar Phase 1, right on Shastr Dhara Road. It’s up in the Cantt area of Dehradun. The air is a bit fresher here than in the middle of the city, which is nice for the little ones we have here. We mainly look after the younger kids. The school isn’t very large. It’s more like a big house that we’ve turned into a learning space for the neighborhood children. We have colorful walls and lots of stuff for the children to do and play with. It’s always noisy with voices and laughter, which is what you expect when you work with kids. We have a small outdoor area where they can run around for a bit. Dehradun weather can be unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time moving things inside and outside when the rain comes. The staff here are all very patient. You have to be when you’re dealing with small children all day long. We aren't some big institution with a lot of strict rules. We just have a routine that works for us. Parents drop their kids off in the morning and we spend the day teaching them basic things. It’s a lot of repetition, but they learn eventually. We just like being a part of this neighborhood. Most of the families live just a few streets away. It feels like a small community inside the school.
