Guidance

You can find our place right below the Arya Morning School in the Rockwood area of Chotta Kak Jhora in Darjeeling. It is a bit of a steep walk to get here, but that is just how things are in the hills. We have been operating from this small spot for quite some time now. The weather up here is mostly misty and damp, so our office always smells a bit like old paper and tea. We call ourselves Guidance because we mostly help out students or anyone who is looking for some help with their education or career paths. It is a very quiet space, except for when the school kids are making noise outside during their breaks. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements around town. Most people just hear about us from their neighbors or friends. We sit around a couple of wooden tables and go through files and forms all day. It is just a few of us who grew up in Darjeeling and wanted to stay here. We don't have any fancy corporate talk or big goals. We just like helping people figure out their next steps. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy we can't hear ourselves talk, so we just wait it out with a hot cup of tea. It is a simple life in the mountains and we are just happy to have a steady place to work every day.
