Silver Sands Restaurant

Our restaurant is part of the Silver Sands Beach Resort out in Daman, right by Devka Beach. We are situated near Marwad Hospital in the Nani Daman area. Because we are so close to the water, there is always a bit of sand that finds its way onto the floor no matter how much we sweep. The air smells like salt and the ocean, which is nice when the breeze is blowing. We get a lot of families coming in after they’ve spent the whole day on the beach. They’re usually tired and hungry, so we try to get the food out as fast as we can. The kitchen stays busy from lunch until late at night. We have a lot of outdoor seating because most people want to be outside when the sun starts going down. It’s not a formal place at all; you can come in wearing your flip-flops and nobody cares. We use a lot of local ingredients since the markets are close by. Some of the chairs are a bit weathered from the sea air, but they’re comfortable enough. We don't have a big corporate team running things, just a few of us who have lived in Daman for a long time. It’s a casual spot where the main thing is just having a meal and watching the waves. We keep things simple and don’t bother with anything too fancy.
