Our place is over at No 10 on P H Road, right near the corner where Dr. Guruswamy Road meets Chetpet. It is a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside. If you are coming here, you definitely know how the roads can get during rush hour. The hospital is a decent-sized building, but it has that lived-in feel to it. It’s not one of those new glass buildings that look like a mall. Inside, things are pretty functional. We have hallways that have seen many people over the years and a reception area that stays busy from early morning until late. The elevators are a bit slow sometimes, so most of us just take the stairs if we’re only going up a floor or two. Working in Chetpet means we see all sorts of people coming through the doors. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, the files pile up on the desks and the waiting area gets full. It’s just the way it goes in a hospital. We don’t go in for fancy talk or expensive decorations. The focus is just on the patients and making sure everything is running okay. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how the building works and where everything is kept. It’s a practical spot on a very busy road, and we just do our best every day.
