Apollo Hospital

Running a place like Apollo Hospital here on Bajanai Koil 1st Street keeps everyone on their toes. This part of Choolaimedu is always crowded, and being at Old No. 12E, New No. 18/ means we see a lot of people walking through the doors every single day. It’s not just about the medicine, it’s about the constant movement. The building has been here through many seasons, and you can see that in some of the corners. We spend a lot of time just organizing things, making sure the chairs in the waiting area are lined up and the lights are working. It gets really busy in the afternoons when the sun is hitting the street outside. People come from all over Chennai and even further out in Tamil Nadu to see us. The staff here mostly take the bus or walk from nearby neighborhoods like 600 094. We have a small desk where people check in, and there is always some paperwork to deal with. It isn’t always quiet, sometimes it’s actually quite noisy with the traffic from the main road filtering into our little street. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but some days are slower than others. We just show up, do the work, and hope people feel a bit better when they leave. It’s a long day for most of us, starting early and ending late.
