B. N. C. Textiles

Our shop is at No. 7, right near the Maharani Theatre on the 3rd lane of Mayor Basudeva Street. This part of Washermanpet is always crowded and noisy, especially when a movie lets out in the evening. We’ve been here for a long time at B. N. C. Textiles, so we’re used to all the chaos. The building itself is quite old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that doesn't really bother us much. We mostly deal in different types of textiles for local needs. The space is filled with stacks of cloth, and there's barely enough room to walk around some days. Our staff is small, just a few of us who know the business well enough. We spend our days sorting through the stock and helping customers who manage to find their way into the lane. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bundles of fabric and moving them around the store. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. People just know where to find us by word of mouth from their neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we just sit and wait it out. It’s a simple life here in Washermanpet. Our focus is on the daily chores and keeping the shop running as best as we can. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours and we are comfortable enough with how things go.
