Aruna Mills Stores

Sembudoss Street is one of those places where you really see the old side of the city. We are based here at number 32, and if you are looking for us, you’ll see we still use Post Box No. 297 for a lot of our mail. Aruna Mills Stores isn’t a place with a big shiny showroom. It’s more of a traditional store where things are stacked up on shelves and in corners. Some of the ledgers are still kept the old way because it just works for us. The street is always packed with people and carts moving back and forth, which makes deliveries a bit of a challenge sometimes, but we are used to it by now. The air smells like the port nearby and the old wood of the building. We open up pretty early to get a head start before the sun gets too high and the road gets too blocked. There’s a lot of metal and spare parts around, and usually, someone is shouting to be heard over the noise of the traffic outside. It is a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to those of us who have worked here for years. We don't really do much in the way of advertising or fancy posters. Most people just know we are here on Sembudoss Street. It’s a simple operation, run by people who know the stock by heart and don't care much for fancy talk.
