VIVVID ONYX AND MARBLE LLP

We’ve been here in Anna Nagar West Extension for a while now. The yard is located at No. 22 on East Main Road. It’s usually pretty busy around here with trucks coming in and out. Dealing with onyx and marble is a lot of heavy lifting and we spend most of our days moving slabs around so people can see the patterns. It gets quite dusty, but that’s just how it is when you work with stone. Some days the Chennai heat is really something else, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning before it gets too bad. We have a lot of different pieces sitting around the warehouse. People come by to look at the colors and we just show them what’s available on the floor that day. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have a big fancy office, just a place where the stone is kept and where we do our paperwork. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the traffic outside on the main road. We’ve got a small crew and most of us have been doing this for years. We know which pieces have cracks and which ones are solid just by looking at them. It isn’t always glamorous work, but it keeps us busy and we like seeing the slabs go out to new homes or buildings nearby. We just keep things moving one day at a time.
