New Sb Stones

So, we are over here at Gangai Amman Koil Street, just a short walk from the Vadapalani Murugan temple. If you know the area, it gets pretty busy with the temple crowds and everything. New Sb Stones has been sitting at number 65/2 for quite a while now. Most days it’s just us surrounded by slabs and blocks of stone. It gets a bit dusty in the shop, but that is just how it goes when you work with these materials. People come in looking for something specific for their floors or walls and we just show them what we have on the racks. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s a basic setup. My hands are usually a bit rough from moving the pieces around. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially during festival times at the temple, but we just keep working through it. We have different kinds of stones piled up everywhere. Some days are slow and we just sit outside on the stools watching the street life go by. Other days, we are loading trucks from early morning until the sun goes down. It’s honest work and we have been doing it right here in Vadapalani for years. We know the local contractors and the neighbors pretty well by now.
