You can find us at Gee Gee Minar 23, College Road, Nungambakkam, right there in the thick of it. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do at Gee Gee Granites Ltd. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still here dealing with stone. Working with granite means you always have a bit of grit under your fingernails. We handle the slabs and make sure they get to where they’re supposed to go. It isn't always pretty work, and the yard can get messy when it rains. We don't spend much on fancy decorations for the office because the stone is what matters. Clients come in and we walk them through the different types of granite we have. Some want it for houses, others for bigger projects. We just give them the facts. Sometimes the shipments are late from the quarry, and we have to explain that to people, which isn't fun. But that’s just how the industry is. We try to be straight with everyone who walks in. It’s a local business at heart. The staff here has been around for a long time, so we know our way around a piece of rock. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to do a decent job every day. There’s a tea stall around the corner where we spend our breaks. It’s just us, the stone, and the daily routine. It's been like this for years.
