Our place, Global Marble And Granite, is located at No. 44,Letangs Road, Purasawalkam. If you know Purasawalkam, you know it’s always busy with people and shops. Letangs Road can get a bit congested, especially when we have trucks coming in or out. Dealing with marble and granite means there is always a bit of dust around the place, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It’s heavy work, and most of us here have the sore backs to prove it. At No. 44, we have slabs leaning against the walls and samples sitting on the tables. It’s not a showroom where everything is sparkling; it’s more of a working yard and office combined. We spend the day measuring things, talking to contractors, and making sure the pieces go where they are supposed to. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to move the stones around, but we manage. People stop by Global Marble And Granite because they know we are here on Letangs Road. We don't do much in terms of advertising or looking fancy. We just have our stock and our tools. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of numbers. Some days are long, and the heat in Purasawalkam can be tough, but we just keep going.
