Working with stone is a heavy business, and that is exactly what we do at No. 19/1 Cresent Park Street in T Nagar. Sudharsana Granites Private Limited is mostly a yard full of big, heavy slabs that take a few people or a machine to move even an inch. T Nagar is usually known for shopping and crowds, but our little corner is more about dust and the sound of stone being moved around. The granite comes in all sorts of colors, but everything ends up looking a bit grey once the dust settles on it. We spend a lot of time showing people the different patterns and explaining how thick each piece is. It isn't a clean job; your hands are always rough and there’s always grit in your pockets by the end of the shift. We have a small office area where the paperwork happens, but most of the action is out where the stone is kept. Cresent Park Street is a decent location, though the trucks sometimes have a hard time navigating the turns to get to us. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighbors are used to the occasional loud thud when a slab is being set down on the ground. It’s just a regular yard where we deal with what the earth gives us. We don't make it sound fancier than it is because at the end of the day, it's just heavy rock.
