Vimala Coffee Works

Our place is over on 3rd Cross Road in Raja Annamalai Puram. We are situated right across from Billroth Hospital, which means there is a lot of activity on our street at all hours. We have been working out of this space for many years now. The shop is mostly taken up by the big grinders and the bags of beans piled up in the corners. It is not a quiet environment. The machines have a loud, steady thrum that you eventually get used to. We spend most of the day measuring out portions and making sure the seal on the bags is tight. The floor is made of old tiles that have cracked over time, but they serve their purpose. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the routine inside and out. It gets quite warm in here when all the equipment is running at once. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. Sometimes customers have to wait a bit if the machine is already in the middle of a batch. We aren't in a huge rush, we just like to get it right. People know us by the smell that drifts out onto the road. We don't do any fancy marketing. It is just a straightforward coffee works where we do our job and go home at the end of the day.
