Vijaya Hospital

If you have ever been stuck in traffic on Nungambakkam High Road, you have probably looked out the window and seen our entrance at No 6E. Vijaya Hospital has been a part of this busy stretch for a long time. It can be quite loud with all the horns and buses outside, but once you step inside, it is a bit more settled. We deal with all sorts of people every day. Some are just stopping in because they work in the nearby offices and have a headache, while others are here for longer stays. The building is older than some of the new glass towers around us, but it feels solid. The nurses are usually rushing around with clipboards and there is always a faint smell of floor cleaner in the halls. We do not spend much money on big advertisements or fancy websites. Most people find us because they live in the neighborhood or their family has always come here. The waiting room chairs are a bit stiff and the overhead fans hum quite loudly during the summer months, but they keep the air moving. Our front desk staff knows most of the regulars by name. We just focus on getting through the daily list of patients and making sure everyone gets seen before we head home for the night. It is hard work but someone has to do it.
