Our office is located at 7, 11th Main Road in the Vijaya Nagar area of Velachery. Being based in this part of the city means we are used to the typical Chennai life, including the heavy traffic and the way the streets can get a bit difficult when the heavy rains arrive. Inside the office of Vel Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd., the atmosphere is usually much more focused and quiet. We spend the majority of our time looking at technical plans, blueprints, and our computer screens. It is a relatively small team working here, so everyone is pretty aware of what everyone else is doing. Our desks are almost always covered in various drawings or notes from recent site visits. People come to visit us when they need some technical advice or help with their engineering projects. We do not have a grand entrance or a fancy reception area; people just walk in and speak with whichever engineer is available at the time. We have been in this particular building for several years now and it suits our needs perfectly. It is a bit of a walk from the main Velachery bus stand, but it is a nice neighborhood to work in. Sometimes we go out to the local mess for lunch or just grab something quick nearby. We are not a giant corporation, just a group of people doing engineering work and trying to get the details right for our clients. It is practical work for us.
