We are located at No. 11 Achuthan 1St Street in Ekkattuthangal. It’s tucked away a bit, but it's near Sonamalli Road, which is the main landmark people look for. Actually, the address says near Sonamalli Road near Sonamalli Road, so you really can't miss that area. The engineering shop is usually full of the sound of metal being worked on. We have various machines and tools scattered around because that’s just how an active workshop looks. Chenthoor Velan Engineering isn't a place for suits and ties. We’re usually in our work clothes, dealing with measurements and repairs. The floor is concrete and often has a few scraps of metal or some oil spots, no matter how much we sweep. It gets quite hot in Ekkattuthangal during the summer months, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes down Achuthan 1St Street. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. Neighbors know us by the clinking sounds of the tools. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing person. If someone needs something fixed or fabricated, they just walk in and ask. We take a look, tell them if we can do it, and then get to work. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. The tea break in the afternoon is when we finally sit down for a minute. Then it’s back to the machines until the sun goes down.
