Ss Engineering

Ss Engineering is located at No 365 Anna Salai, specifically in the Jalladian Pet area of Medavakkam. The shop is full of metal scraps, tools, and the smell of machine oil. We have a couple of lathes and some welding equipment that we use every day. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the machines and the traffic on Anna Salai. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out some of the road noise. My work clothes are usually covered in some kind of grease or metal shavings by noon. It’s a practical space, not meant for hosting fancy meetings. We have a small wooden bench for anyone who needs to wait while we finish a small job. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains that have been there since we opened. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; most people just see our sign when they are stuck in traffic or they hear about us from other workshops nearby. Medavakkam has changed a lot since we started, with more buildings going up, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We just show up, do the machining or the repairs that come in, and go home when the sun goes down. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do here at Ss Engineering. I keep a toolbox under the main table.
