Veg India Exports

Prakasam Street is where you will find us at number 106. It’s a narrow place, and early in the morning, it gets quite crowded with carts and delivery vans. At Veg India Exports, we don’t really have a lot of time for sitting around. The day starts while most people are still sleeping, because that’s when the produce is the freshest. We spend hours sorting through greens and roots, making sure everything looks okay before it gets put into the crates. Our clothes usually end up a bit dusty by the end of the shift. We aren’t a big corporation with fancy suits; we’re just a bunch of people who know our way around a vegetable market. Some of us have been working here since we were young, and we’ve seen the street change over the years. We handle a lot of shipments, and there’s always someone calling about a delay or a new order. We just do our best to get the boxes packed and out the door on time. It can be exhausting when the heat picks up in the middle of the day, but we take our breaks when we can and get back to it. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes scribbled on scraps of paper. It works for us. It’s a good life even if it is a bit tiring.
