Shri Krishna Traders

You can find us at Flat J on the first floor of the Saraswathi Apartments. It’s at 3 Satyapuri Street in West Mambalam, Chennai. Shri Krishna Traders is run by S. Santhosh and a couple of others. It’s basically an apartment that we turned into an office space. It’s a bit cramped with all the files and the computer equipment, but it works for what we need. West Mambalam is a very traditional and busy area. The streets are narrow and there’s always someone walking by. We’ve been here for a long time, so the neighbors all know us. We do a lot of trading and paperwork from this small room. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have a fan that keeps things moving. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything. Most of our clients just know where we are. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or websites. We just focus on the trade and making sure our records are right. Sometimes we lose track of time talking to customers on the phone. It’s a simple life. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We just want to keep the business steady and stay in the neighborhood we like. The walk up to the first floor keeps us somewhat fit, since we’re up and down those stairs ten times a day. We keep a lot of our inventory stacked in the corner, so it can get a bit crowded. It’s just us.
