Sangam Traders

If you head over to Arcot Road in Kodambakkam, you’ll find the Ambica Complex. We are up on the third floor at number 55. Sangam Traders has been operating from this spot for a good while now. Being on the third floor means we get a lot of stairs to climb every day, which keeps us moving I guess. The office is usually full of samples and ledgers. It’s a trading business, so there’s always something coming in or going out. Arcot Road is always jammed with traffic, so we hear the horns all day long. We deal with various goods and talk to suppliers over the phone most of the time. It’s not a glamorous job, just honest work that fills the day. We have a small team here. We usually eat lunch together in the back room. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the window until it comes back on. We know most of the other people in the building. It’s a community of sorts. We don’t spend money on big posters or radio ads. Most people who buy from us have been doing it for years. We just try to keep our stock sorted and the paperwork in order. It gets a bit dusty with all the files, but it’s home for us during the work week. There is always a stack of invoices on the desk waiting for attention.
