Universal Granites

You will find our stone yard out in Attapalayam Village. It is part of the Gnayaru Panchayat, near the Orakkadu Post in Sholavaram. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the city, but we like it out here because there is plenty of room for all the granite slabs. We spend our days moving heavy stone around with the crane and the old trucks. It is a dusty job and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We don't have a showroom with fancy lights. It is just a big outdoor space where the granite sits until someone needs it. People come out here to look through the piles and find a piece that they like for their home or building. We just talk to them normally and tell them what we know about the stone. Sometimes it rains and the yard gets a bit muddy, which makes the work twice as hard, but we just get on with it. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous. We just want to do our job and go home at the end of the day. It’s a quiet life out in the village, mostly just the sound of stone being cut or trucks idling. We’ve been here for a while and we know the land well. It is just us and the granite, keeping things simple and honest.
