About Trans World Granites – Building & Construction Material in Chennai
Our office is over on Thambu Chetty Street, specifically at No. 137 on the third floor. It’s a busy part of the city, and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens now and then. Downstairs, the street is always full of people and carts moving things around. We’ve been dealing in granites from this spot for a good long time. It’s mostly paperwork and phone calls up here, coordinating where the stone needs to go. We don't keep the big slabs here on the third floor for obvious reasons, but we have all the details and samples you might need. It’s a bit cramped with all the files and the desks, but it works for us. Usually, the windows are open to let some air in, though it gets noisy with the traffic below. We spend a lot of time talking to quarry people and transporters. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes people come in confused about the floor, so we had to put a small sign by the entrance. We drink a lot of tea while we work through the orders. Most of the guys here have been with us for years. We know the regular drivers and the other business owners on the street. It’s just a steady way of making a living in this part of town and we stay busy.
