Jai Creation

Jai Creation is tucked away at 9 Kamaraj Street in West Tambaram. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main market area, which we like. We do a lot of different work here, mostly centered around making and designing clothes. It’s a simple setup with a few machines and a large cutting table that takes up most of the room. We started this because we liked working with fabric, and it just grew from there. There are always spools of thread rolling around and measuring tapes draped over chairs. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy showroom. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood or folks who heard about us from a friend. The light in the shop is best in the morning, which is when we try to do the most detailed stitching. We have a small team, and we all pitch in with everything, from cutting the cloth to cleaning up the shop at the end of the day. Sometimes a customer brings in a sketch and we try our best to make it look like that. It doesn't always go perfectly on the first try, but we keep working on it until it's right. It’s a small, honest business where we just enjoy the process of creating something from a plain piece of fabric. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, just a reliable spot for local folks to get things made.
