Aminjikarai is always packed with people, so getting to work in the morning is usually a bit of a struggle with the traffic. Tajmahal Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this space for some time. We deal with agricultural stuff, which means a lot of talk about crops and seasons. The office is tucked away, so it stays relatively quiet despite being on such a busy road. We have a few rooms filled with samples and records. It’s not a corporate showroom or anything like that. It’s just where we sit and handle the business side of things. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. You see the same faces every day in the hallway. We don’t have any big slogans. It’s mostly just making sure the supply chain doesn't break down and the farmers get what they need. Lunch usually comes from one of the small shops nearby. The paperwork can get overwhelming during harvest times, but that’s just how it goes in this industry. We don't try to look bigger than we are. It’s a practical space for practical work. We’ve been here long enough that the walls could probably tell a few stories.
