A.R. Devarajulu Naidu & Son. We operate out of the Anna Fruit Market in Koyambedu. Specifically, you can find us at T/F 115 and 117. It’s a massive place, and if you haven’t been here before, it’s easy to get turned around among all the stalls and crates. We’ve been here since my father’s time, and the name on the sign is something we take seriously even if the sign itself is a bit faded now. The mornings start very early here, way before the sun is even up. That’s when the market is at its loudest, with trucks coming in and people shouting to get things moved. Our space is mostly filled with crates and the smell of whatever is in season. It’s not a clean, air-conditioned office. It’s dusty, it’s loud, and there’s always something that needs to be hauled from one side to the other. We use old wooden desks that have been around for decades to keep our ledgers. We don’t use a lot of fancy technology, just what we need to keep track of the stock. It’s a hard way to earn a living sometimes, but it’s what we know. Being in Koyambedu means you’re always in the middle of the action. We wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves in a quiet office building. This market is our world, through the busy seasons and the slow ones.
