Kunnam Granite Works

Our workshop is at No. 24 on Malony Road in T Nagar. If you know the area, you know it stays pretty crowded most of the time. We have been doing granite work here for quite a while. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it serves us well enough for what we do. We have the cutting machines set up towards the back and the finished pieces leaning against the front walls. It’s loud because of the saws and there is always water running to keep the blades cool. My clothes are usually damp by the time lunch rolls around. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. Usually, it’s just one of us stepping away from a machine to talk to whoever walks in. The floor is covered in stone dust and small scraps of granite that we haven't cleared away yet. We try to keep things organized, but when a new shipment comes in, the whole place gets cramped. Malony Road is a busy one, so getting the big trucks in and out is always a bit of a production. We have to time it right so we don't block the whole street for too long. It’s just a regular local business. We work hard, we take our breaks when we can, and we go home tired. That is the routine every day here in T Nagar.
