Our office is tucked away on Bharatiyar Second Cross Street in Ayambakkam. It’s over in the Poonamallee side of Tiruvallur. If you’re looking for a big airport hangar, you won't find it here. This is where we handle the books and the ground training part of things. The street is a bit narrow, so parking can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes. Inside, there are maps on the walls and some model planes on the shelves. It’s a small place, really. Just a few rooms where the instructors sit with the students to go over flight rules and navigation stuff. Tamil Nadu gets pretty hot, so the fans are always on full speed during the day. We have stacks of manuals piled up on the tables. It’s a lot of reading and studying before anyone actually gets to go near a real cockpit. The neighbors know us as the pilot place. Most of the time it’s just quiet study sessions going on. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk. We spend a lot of time talking about weather and altitude. It’s a lot of work for the students, but they seem to like being here in this little corner of Ayambakkam. We often have tea together during the breaks and talk about different types of aircraft. It is a relaxed place.
