You will find us on the second floor of Doshi Garden in Vadapalani. It’s a well-known spot in the area, right near the main junction where the traffic always seems to be backed up. The Indian Institute Of Hardware Technology takes up a fair bit of space up here. When you walk in, you’ll see rows of benches and plenty of computer hardware scattered around on different tables. It’s more of a workshop feel than a traditional office. The second floor gets a decent amount of light, but we usually have all the overhead tubes turned on so people can see exactly what they are working on. There is always the sound of people talking or the constant whirring of cooling fans from the machines. The elevator in Doshi Garden can be a bit slow, so we often just take the stairs to save time. It’s a functional place. We have whiteboards covered in diagrams and scribbled notes that haven't been erased for weeks. The floor is a hard surface that is easy to clean, which is good because we are always moving equipment around. Vadapalani is a very crowded part of town, so there’s always a lot of noise coming from the street below. We don’t have any plush carpets or expensive art on the walls. It’s just a place where people come to get their hands on technology and figure out how things work. It gets a bit messy at times, but that’s just how it looks when people are busy.
