S.Venkateswan Granites & Marbles

We've been here on Jawaharlal Nehru Road for a good while now. It's the 100 Feet Road area, right in Arumbakkam. People usually find us near Senthil Nagar because we've been at this same spot for ages. We deal mostly in granites and marbles, just like the name says. It's dusty work, moving slabs around and getting them ready for folks building houses nearby. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a plain place where we keep the stock on racks. Sometimes the traffic outside is a total nightmare, but we manage to get things loaded onto the mini-trucks somehow. My family has been around this stone trade for a long time, so we know which types of granite handle the humidity and heat here. We don't really spend much on ads or anything like that, we just focus on what's currently sitting in the yard. If someone needs a kitchen top or some flooring for their new flat, they just drop by and have a look. We show them what we have on the racks and tell them the price. It might take a bit of time to find pieces if you're very picky about the natural patterns in the stone. We try to keep a decent variety of colors, though the local grey and black stuff is what people buy the most. The weather gets really hot under the tin roof, but we're out here most days. It's just us doing the daily grind, making sure measurements are right and the deliveries go out when a truck is available.
