Sundar Hospital

We are based at 186 Trunk Road, which most locals in Ponnamalee know as the busy stretch near the main market area. The hospital has been around for years and we’ve seen the road outside grow from a quiet lane to a major thoroughfare. Our daily routine is pretty standard, starting early with the floor cleaning and checking the inventory. We have a mix of regular patients and people who just stop in because they were passing by and felt unwell. The waiting room has those plastic chairs that are easy to wipe down, and we usually have a small radio playing in the background at the nurse's station. It’s a very hands-on environment where everyone chips in, even if it’s not exactly in their job description. We deal with everything from small scratches to more serious things that require staying over for a few nights. The building isn't brand new, but we keep it tidy and functional. We spend a lot of time talking to families and explaining how things work without using too much medical jargon. It gets hot in the summer months so we make sure the fans are always serviced. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on being here for the people who live along the Trunk Road and the surrounding areas. It is honest, tiring work that feels important at the end of every shift we finish.
