We are located up on the 5th floor of No. 110 on Mahatma Gandhi Road. Being in Nungambakkam means there’s always something going on outside, but up here at Stonecolour Exim Pvt. Ltd., we keep things pretty quiet and focused. We deal mostly with the export and import side of the stone business, which means a lot of paperwork and even more phone calls to ports and suppliers. It’s not the most glamorous job, sitting in an office all day looking at spreadsheets and shipping schedules, but it’s what we know. The stone business has its ups and downs, especially with international shipping being what it is these days. We spend a lot of time making sure the colors match what the client saw in the photos, which is harder than it sounds. Stone is a natural product, so it never looks exactly the same twice. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we get things sorted. If you come by, you’ll see we’re just regular people trying to keep the supply chain moving. We’ve had this office for a while now and we like the neighborhood, even if the lift is a bit slow sometimes. It’s just a steady, everyday kind of business for us. Our team isn't very big, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering phones to checking customs documents. We just want to get the job done right.
