Stone Mart Cladding Systems

Down on Haddows Road, specifically at No. 1, 9/4 on the First Street, is where you’ll find Stone Mart Cladding Systems. It’s a bit of a specific business because we focus on cladding. That means a lot of our work is about stones that go on the outside or inside of walls. We don't just have big slabs; we have all these smaller pieces and tiles too. The shop is filled with samples of different textures. Some are bumpy and natural, others are smooth. It’s interesting to see how a simple stone can change a wall. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and people building their houses. They bring their measurements, and we try to figure out how many boxes they’re going to need. It’s a lot of math and double-checking. Sometimes the colors of the stone vary from one batch to another, so we have to explain that to everyone. It’s just how nature works. The street outside can get pretty busy, so we’re used to the noise of the city. We have a small team here, and we all pitch in with the heavy lifting when a shipment arrives. It’s hard on the back, but we’re used to it. We keep things pretty simple. No big brochures or fancy displays, just the stone itself sitting on the shelves for anyone to see.
