Sri Shanthi Granites & Marbles

We are situated on Poonamalle High Road in Arumbakkam. The address is a bit confusing because of the old and new numbers, but we are at New No. 832. If you know the area, you know how busy this road gets. There is always a line of traffic and the sound of horns. Our shop has been here for quite some time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot. We deal in all kinds of granite and marble slabs. They are stacked up high against the walls. Some of the marble is very delicate, so we have to be careful when we move it around. It’s a lot of physical labor, hauling pieces back and forth for customers to see. My hands are usually stained with polish or covered in stone dust. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a marketing team. It’s just us and the stone. We talk to people who are building their first homes or maybe just fixing up a small bathroom. It’s nice to see what they choose. The evening light on the high road makes the polished surfaces really shine. We stay open until it gets dark, usually. It’s a lot of work keeping the inventory straight and making sure everything is loaded onto the trucks safely. We just focus on getting the stone out to the sites where it’s needed without any delays. It is honest work and keeps us very busy.
