Sree Balaji Tiles

Our shop is at number 25 in Thillai Nagar, right on the 200 Feet Road in Kolathur. If you have ever driven down that stretch, you know how hectic the traffic can be. We have been running Sree Balaji Tiles here for a while. It is not a very big shop, but we have managed to cram a lot of different tile samples into the space. We have racks lined up against almost every wall. Sometimes the aisles get a bit narrow when we have new boxes waiting to be put away. We get a lot of local people from around Kolathur coming in. They are usually looking for something simple for a bathroom renovation or a kitchen floor. We spend a lot of time helping them pick out colors that will not show the dirt too much. Tiles are tricky because they look different under different types of lights. We do not have fancy showroom lighting here, just the regular tubes. We try to be honest about what we actually have in stock. If we are out of a certain pattern, we just say so. The loading part is the most stressful because if you drop a box, that is the end of the tiles. My nephew helps me with the deliveries on his small truck. We usually go out in the mornings before the 200 Feet Road gets completely blocked with traffic. It is just a regular neighborhood business.
