Sooriya Hospital

If you walk down Arunachalam Road in Saligramam, you will see our place right at the start. It is an old building, but we keep it tidy. The hospital has been part of this street for years, and most of our staff live nearby, so we know most of the people who walk through the doors. It gets busy in the rainy season when everyone seems to catch a cold at the same time. We have several floors, and the stairs can be a bit of a workout if the lift is being slow that day. Our nurses are usually the ones making sure everything stays on track while the doctors are seeing patients. It is not like those big corporate hospitals you see in the city center. We are more of a local spot where you come when you aren't feeling well. We spend a lot of time talking to families and explaining things over and over because people get worried. The tea stall right outside is a popular spot for people waiting for their results. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting people back on their feet. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, and sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing, but that is just part of the job. We have been here so long that the building feels like a second home to most of us working here.
