S.L Anandan Granites

Our place is at No : 342 on P.H. Road in Aminjikarai. If you’ve ever driven down this road, you know how busy it gets with all the cars and buses rushing by at all hours. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now, dealing mostly with granite slabs that we bring in and sort through for our customers. The yard isn't huge, so we have to be really smart about how we stack everything so it doesn't get in the way of the gate. Every morning starts with moving a few things around to make space for whatever is coming in next. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the time five o'clock rolls around. We have a small office where we keep the receipts and some smaller samples, but most of the action happens outside. People from the local neighborhood stop in quite a bit because we are right there on the main stretch. We don't have any big flashy signs or anything like that, just the stone and us. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it’s pouring rain and we have to cover the slabs or deal with the mud. We just keep at it though. It’s a simple business of buying and selling stone. We talk to the truck drivers who come from the quarries and they tell us stories about the roads. It's just how we make a living and we’ve been doing it this way for years.
