Shreenivas Silks & Sarees

You can find our shop at No 100 in Pondy Bazaar. Being in T Nagar means it's always crowded and there is a lot of energy outside the door. We are right near Saravana Bhavan, so you can usually smell the food from the restaurant while we're working. Our shop has been here for quite a while. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling packed with silks and sarees. It's a bit of a squeeze when there are more than three or four people inside at once. We spend our days unfolding fabric and showing different patterns to anyone who walks in. It’s a lot of standing on our feet. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just the shop floor and a small back room where we keep extra stock and have our tea. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we try to make sure people can see the true colors of the silk. Sometimes we get really busy during the festival times and it gets a bit overwhelming, but we manage. We’ve seen a lot of shops come and go in T Nagar, but we’ve stayed put. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just show what we have and let people decide for themselves. It's a busy life, but we've gotten used to the noise of Pondy Bazaar over the years. We just keep doing our thing.
