Utsav

We are located on the second floor of 153 Mint Street. Sowcarpet is always crowded, so you have to watch your step when you come to see us. It’s a very busy part of Chennai with lots of noise and people moving about. Utsav has been here for a while now. We deal with various things, mostly stuff people need for their celebrations. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, so take your time. Inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street below. We have shelves full of items and it can get a bit dusty. We don't spend much on decorations for the office because we are too busy working. My family helps out during the peak seasons when everyone is looking for things at once. It’s a lot of counting and packing. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. We know the other shop owners on Mint Street pretty well. We trade stories about the traffic and the weather. If you are looking for us, look for the old building near the corner. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people walking by or hearing about us from their friends. It’s a simple way to run a business but it has worked for us so far. It gets very hot in the summer, so the fan is always running.
