Seven Hill Spices

Our shop is located at number 359 in the Jenith Aracode Apartment building, right on MTH Road in Ambattur. If you know the area, you know how loud the traffic gets with all the trucks and buses passing by all day. We have been working out of this space for a while now, mostly dealing with different kinds of spices that we grind and pack. The smell of pepper and cardamom is always hanging in the air, even when we leave for the day. Seven Hill Spices is just a small setup with a few grinding machines that make a lot of noise. Sometimes the neighbors in the apartments upstairs complain about the sound, so we try to do the heaviest grinding in the middle of the day when people are out. The workspace is usually covered in a fine layer of spice dust. We spend hours sitting on stools, filling up small packets and sealing them by hand. It isn't very fancy work, and our clothes always end up stained with turmeric yellow. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just our name on the door. People from the neighborhood know where we are if they need something for their cooking. We keep a few ledgers to track what we sell, but it’s mostly just us doing the same tasks every morning. The MTH Road stays busy until late at night, so there is always some noise coming through the windows while we finish our daily chores.
