Sakaria Brothers

You can find Sakaria Brothers at 179 Govindappa Naicken Street. It’s right in the middle of all the chaos of the wholesale market. If you’ve been here, you know it’s a tight squeeze with all the lorries and carts. Our shop is quite narrow but it goes back a long way into the building. We’ve got stacks of goods piled up almost to the ceiling. It’s a family thing. My brother and I run the place with two assistants who have been with us for a decade. We don't have air conditioning, just some old metal fans that make a lot of noise. The floors are a bit uneven, but they’ve held up well. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street. There’s always someone coming in for a quote or just to check what’s in stock. We don't bother with fancy displays. The products are right there in the boxes if you want to see them. It gets very busy in the mornings. We usually have our first cup of coffee around 11 when things settle down a bit. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just buy and sell. It’s what our father did and his father before him. The building is old and needs some paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that right now. It’s a real place for real business.
